Insurance & Billing Information
Fees & Copays
Payment is requested at the time of your office visit. Copays are typically listed on your insurance card or within your insurance contract. Remaining charges will be billed to your insurance carrier as a courtesy.
Pathology Examination Fees
Many dermatology procedures, including biopsies and excisions, include two separate components: the procedure performed by the dermatologist and tissue examination by a pathologist. Pathology services may be billed separately.
Patients Without Insurance
The initial office fee includes establishing a new medical record. Routine initial visit fees may vary, and additional charges may apply for procedures, testing, or treatment. However, our basic charge is $170 for routine initial visits.
Accepted Insurance Plans
We currently accept insurance from the following providers. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend confirming benefits and network participation with your insurance provider before your visit.
Common Patient Questions
Why do I need to bring a photo ID?
Photo identification helps us protect your personal health information and confirm that records are only shared with the patient or legal guardian.
Why are you asking for my SSN?
In some cases, a Social Security number may be needed for insurance coordination, Medicare claims, or resolving claim-processing issues.
How are visit and procedure fees determined?
Charges are based on standard medical billing codes assigned to each visit or procedure.
Can charges or copays be lowered?
Copays and covered charges are determined by insurance requirements. If you have financial concerns, please contact our office to discuss available options.
Prescriptions & Results
Prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy. Biopsy and lab results are typically available within several days, and our team will contact you with next steps once results are reviewed.
How often should I follow up after skin cancer?
Patients with a history of skin cancer may need follow-up every 3–4 months during the first year, then approximately every 6 months depending on their diagnosis.
